Hi, I’m Mardie, a self-taught sewist from The Netherlands. I started sewing in 2007 on my stepmothers kitchen table, and never stopped.
On this website you can view my sewing portfolio, as well as learn more about my sewing courses and my Etsy shops where I sell handmade items and PDF patterns.
I chose the name hanabachi (bumblebee) because sewing, teaching and selling all week makes me a pretty busy bee!

My Etsy shop Hanabachi Handmade is dedicated to my handmade bags, plushies and clothing. I love using colourful fabrics and bold prints! Some of the fabric I use are my own designs, printed in The Netherlands.

My second Etsy shop, Hanabachi Patterns, is dedicated to my PDF sewing patterns that you can print at home.
sewing teacher
I teach beginner & advanced sewing courses at Handwerkstudio Leiden, The Netherlands, where we have built a community of avid sewists.
